XPO supports military veterans and reservists – and believes that the skills you developed while in the service will help us succeed together. One of the core values learned is respect - a value XPO deems central to who we are.
We listen. We’re leaders in creating new markets, spotting unnoticed opportunities and discovering smart ways to tackle challenges. We pull together to reimagine how business gets done. Respect for each other’s individual strengths drives this collaboration.
Like in the service, every member of the team at XPO is important, regardless of role or level. Respect for all makes the team succeed.
Our commitment to veterans inclusion includes:
It's those intense moments when the team is exhausted, trying to accomplish the mission under pressure, that we always look back on the most. I always tell the team during start up or a peak season at a site that when this is over, we will look back and miss the camaraderie and energy. Everyone looks at me like I am crazy at the time; then a couple months after, they all agree. – Erik Caldwell, Army
My military background has provided key perspectives to processes and protocol. Discipline is crucial in my industry, as is diversity. – Tamar Jimenez, Navy
My mission as a Senior Drill Sergeant was to take civilians and turn them into soldiers. Differences didn't matter. I didn't care where you came from or about your gender, age, race or anything else; everyone was part of the team, no matter what. – Thomas McMillan, Jr., Army
Veterans Day is all about memorializing those who came before me and fought alongside me – those that sacrificed not only their lives, but time with their families. – Tony Luna, Marines
Veterans Day means that we celebrate all of our past, present and future veterans' accomplishments, hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. All of the freedoms we have today are because of the sacrifices they've made. – Katrina Hudson, Army
The military taught me a lot about being a team player, no matter the circumstances. That led to me being the team player I am today, and seeing eye to eye with all my coworkers. – Kevin Morton, Jr., Air Force

“My military background has provided key perspectives to processes and protocol. Discipline is crucial in my industry, as is diversity. Moreover, ensuring that each member understands their role and how truly vital they are to the organizational success is paramount, and it is through the military that I have learned how to bring these variables together for the organization's success.”
Fill the Truck was founded six years ago by XPO truck driver and US Army veteran Donald Rolon. In Rockford, Illinois, annually, the local team has held a holiday drive for animal welfare. All donations go to local animal shelters and the non-profit Circle of Change, which trains companion dogs for military veterans with brain disorders. In 2019, Fill the Truck raised a record 40,000 pounds of pet food, accessories and cleaning supplies, as well as $2,200 in cash.
