XPO Women Employees and Allies
Achieving Gender Equity
We all know that parts of our industry have traditionally been male-dominated. We see it in trucks, in the management of distribution centers and in boardrooms around the world. Women make up, on average, just 15% of our industry’s total workforce. Here at XPO that number is approximately 26%, and we are driven to raise it even higher. Inclusion is the foundation of excellence, and diverse workplaces are more successful and innovative.
At XPO, one of our main goals is to give every employee the means to build the career they want. That’s why we began the Women’s Inclusion Series, or Wise: a program for women who work at XPO to network with each other, across the company and around the world. Through these round table discussions, we hear from women who are successful in their careers, both at XPO and elsewhere.
Together with our employees, we're moving forward on gender equity through progressive workplace initiatives, active recruiting of women in all roles and internal promotions. Our female executives, board members and managers serve as role models in our organization. Many have received industry recognition for their accomplishments.
"It’s scary and you already know that the industry is dominated by men but that’s something I had to get over. This job is hard work and you have to be willing to put that work in."
"Seeing a woman in a big truck shows girls and boys too, that we can do whatever we set our minds to."
"Don't be intimated and don't get in your own way. If you're scared to do something that's all the more reason you should just go do it."
"If you work hard and believe in yourself you can achieve anything you put your mind to. It's hard to give up on a strong woman who does not give up on herself."

Susan G. Komen Partnership to Fight Breast Cancer
XPO Logistics and Susan G. Komen®, a leading nonprofit breast cancer organization, have partnered in the fight to end breast cancer.
To raise awareness of Komen’s mission, XPO has added Komen’s iconic pink running ribbon logo to company trucks. XPO unveiled the truck design on October 25, one day before the 2019 Komen Dallas Race for the Cure. Each year, XPO employees join nearly 850,000 people worldwide in participating in Race for the Cure events.
Brad Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of XPO Logistics, said, “We’re proud to partner with Susan G. Komen in supporting a cause close to our employees’ hearts. XPO is committed to helping women everywhere lead healthy lives.”
“Thanks to XPO, our message is taking to the roads, giving it a new level of impact,” said Christina Alford, SVP, Development. “We’re excited that XPO is joining us in our ongoing work to meet the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.”

Josephine Berisha, Chief Human Resources Officer
I’m honored to serve as the executive sponsor of our Women at XPO employee resource group. Having grown up in a culture that viewed women primarily as “homemakers,” I had to clear multiple obstacles and challenge misperceptions about the role of women, just to attend university and start a business career. I’m proud to be a trailblazer, especially for future generations of women in my culture, who’ll have even more opportunities to pursue their personal and professional goals.
As the executive sponsor of SHEISXPO-Women Employees and Allies, my goal is to ensure that the women of XPO see opportunity at every turn and are supported by colleagues who celebrate and reward their accomplishments. I look forward to partnering with each employee and ally on this valuable mission.
